  1. Did you pass the old version or the new version (after October) of the exam? What material did you use in both trials? People say that telnet sessions are very slow that you can’t write fast enough on the keyboard which prevents them from utilizing time during the exam, Is this true? Kindly advise. Thanks.

    • I passed the new version. See my previous post on what I used. Mostly the education services slideware and the JNCIE-SP bootcamp stuff… I didn’t bother with 3rd party material, though it may very well be good. I don’t know.
The console sessions are indeed slow, and it isn’t ideal. However, this is a function of the console and not of the telnet session. Console ports are always slow. It’s adequate to do the lab, and it didn’t bother me too much. If you know the material thoroughly, that sort of thing shouldn’t mess you up. Although I must say, since I work on a Mac and not a PC, the shift-insert SecureCRT paste really confused me. I also didn’t like how it automatically copies what you select, but I found a check-box to disable it. I said it before but I will say it again: know the material thoroughly and you won’t get tripped up by a slow console or differences in the keyboard, etc.
